You will work in a friendly and enthusiastic team of volunteers and professionals. Together with an experienced colleague-volunteer you will create a safe environment where informal caretakers can tell their story and are both recognised and acknowledged.
You can attend training courses and workshops and will receive support and guidance from a project coordinator. In addition, we regularly organise meetings with other counsellors to share experiences.

Job tasks and duties

You will supervise a regular meeting group of loved ones caring for someone with dementia, or Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). You create a  environment for discussion where people feel safe to share experiences and feelings. The informal cartakers support each other, can exchange practical tips and share experiences without having to explain much (recognition and acknowledgement). As a facilitator, you  support them from an equal role.

Job skills and qualities

You are good at listening and connecting.
You have an affinity with informal caretakering in the area of dementia, or Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).
You are patient and supportive.
