As a communications volunteer, you'll support us with the Hortus's daily and periodic communications. You'll actively seek out stories in the garden; from special artwork and projects to the people behind the scenes.
Your expertise will directly contribute to strengthening our visibility and achieving further growth in visitor numbers in 2026.
Job tasks and duties
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and posting messages for our social media channels.
- Drafting and sending newsletters.
- Writing press releases and contributing to media coverage.
- Posting, updating, and managing content on our website.
- Contributing to ideas on how we can further strengthen our communication and ensure it grows in line with our ambitions.
Minimum education level: mbo
Job skills and qualities
- You have experience in communication (e.g., as a communications consultant, editor, content specialist, or experienced volunteer).
- You write well and enjoy writing and can adapt texts to different target audiences.
- You think strategically but also enjoy getting your hands dirty.
- You work independently but also actively seek collaboration.
- You are committed to nature, culture, heritage, or social organizations.
Extra information
Our website currently runs on WordPress with Divi and will be further developed to WordPress with Colibri in the coming period. Experience with (one of) these systems is a plus.
We use MailCamp for our newsletters. It works similarly to Mailchimp. Experience with either system is therefore very welcome, but not required.
