The Animal Ambulance Groningen (DAG) provides transport of sick, injured and found animals in the city of Groningen and some eight surrounding municipalities; these municipalities have outsourced their legal duties in this regard to the DAG. The DAG also offers services to residents of the region in the funeral and cremation of their deceased pets.
An important secondary objective is to offer temporary work or internship placements to people at a disadvantage on the labour market and provide them with opportunities to gain work experience.
Job tasks and duties
The board acts as a facilitating board and it supports and monitors the manager of the DAG; in addition, the board is accountable to the members of the association. Currently, 3 board members are in office and the positions of chairman, treasurer and office secretary have been filled.
Job skills and qualities
To complement the current board, we are looking for board members with some of the following competences/experiences:
- Affinity with animal welfare organisations.
- Some administrative experience.
- Legal background.
- Socially active with broad network.
- Familiarity with and/or experience with reintegration projects.
- Prescriptive attitude.
