The neighbourhood taxi is meant for rides of a few hundred metres to a maximum of a kilometre. This is all within the Selwerd district. Paddepoel shopping centre will be reached. The electric taxi has space for a maximum of two passengers, possibly with a folded rollator. A single ride costs €2.00.

Job tasks and duties

Buurttaxi Selwerd is a project originating from Wijkbedrijf Selwerd, in cooperation with Zinn and the municipality of Groningen.
Buurttaxi Selwerd is committed to providing low-threshold transport for seniors and those in need of assistance. By doing so, we hope to encourage people who are currently very limited in mobility to get out more often and maintain their social contacts. This is extremely important for this target group and is now often difficult.

Job skills and qualities

  • You are reliable. 
  • You have good social skills or at least want to develop them.
  • You get along well with elderly people.
  • You speak good Dutch.
  • You can empathise to some extent with the limitations and abilities of senior citizens.
  • You are flexible in terms of working hours, of course this is always by mutual agreement. The starting point is that it remains fun for everyone, both client and volunteer.
  • You have an ample amount of patience.
  • Experience working as a driver is an advantage, but not a requirement.
