Language House participants often struggle with Dutch, math, or digital skills. You'll help them with this. Working with eager adults is fun and rewarding! You're incredibly important to helping others improve their language skills, which also helps them build self-reliance and self-confidence.
You'll schedule meetings with the participant you've been paired with, so you decide the time.
You'll receive training beforehand on how to interact with the target group and how to approach the coaching process. During the coaching process, you can always contact your Language House coordinator.
Job tasks and duties
- You will independently mentor someone struggling with Dutch at a Language House.
- Before starting your mentoring, you will receive an engaging four-day training session. The training covers the following topics: target group and backgrounds, speaking skills support, reading support, and writing support.
- Teaching materials are available at the Language House.
- You will receive guidance from a Language House coordinator.
- If you identify any difficulties in the participant's learning process, please proactively report them to your Language House coordinator.
- The Language House Korrewegwijk is located in the Floreshuis, Floresplein 19, 9715HH Groningen.
Minimum education level: mbo

We are looking for volunteers who are proficient in Dutch and enjoy working with (non-Dutch speaking) adults.
