Interesting about this job
- The fun part is that you get a lot of contact with your clients.
- You work together in shifts of at least two people and events are organised regularly.
- Once a year, you and the other volunteers get to decide which charity half of the proceeds will go to.
- There is also the possibility of doing extra things, such as organising activities, joining a committee or helping out at a book fair.
Job tasks and duties
Books 4 Life is a second-hand bookstore that sells all kinds of books for charity. Half of the proceeds are donated to Oxfam Novib and Amnesty International. Where the other half of the money goes is decided by the volunteers.
As a volunteer, you will mainly help sell books. You will also price books brought in, sort books in the warehouse, answer questions from customers and keep the shop tidy.
Minimum education level: havo/vwo
Job skills and qualities
- Affinity with books.
- Positive commitment.
- Able to interact with people - colleagues and customers.
