Job tasks and duties
As a volunteer, you and your fellow volunteers will be the face of the Patient Library for patients and visitors in the UMCG. The Patient Library provides books, newspapers, magazines and diversions for patients throughout the hospital from a fixed location. Here, you provide a representative and inviting meeting place for patients and visitors. One of the main tasks is for the volunteers to visit patients on the nursing wards every day with a mobile lending trolley to provide them with our products. In addition, administrative tasks are part of your duties.
You will be the point of contact in the patient library.
Lending materials via the mobile lending trolley.
Administrative tasks.
Maintaining equipment.
Providing a presentable appearance of the patient library and mobile lending carts.
Computer work.
Job skills and qualities
- You recognise yourself as an open, enthusiastic and hospitable person and you have a representative appearance.
- You have good communication skills.
- You enjoy working in a dynamic environment where change can be a challenge for you.
- You are interested in a patient's experience.
- You enjoy working with colleagues but can also work well independently.
- You have a good command of the Dutch language.
- You are computer literate.
- You are willing to participate in training and consultation situations.
- You are willing and able to commit yourself for a longer period of time.
- You are available at least part of a day per week (times: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1 p.m.-4 p.m.).
