Within the Active Approach team, volunteers play a very important role because they make the first telephone contact with victims.

Job tasks and duties
After a major event, all kinds of emotions come into play and victims and survivors have to deal with various agencies. You will make the first telephone contact with victims on behalf of Slachtofferhulp Nederland. You offer a listening ear and discuss what help is needed. A telephone conversation with you may be sufficient. If necessary, you will refer for follow-up help.
Minimum education level: havo/vwo
Job skills and qualities
Do you have a natural interest in your fellow man and are you a good listener? If you also recognise yourself in the following characteristics, then we are looking for you!
- You are available for a minimum of 6 hours per week.
- Your empathy makes people feel seen and heard.
- You are stress-resistant, see what is needed and have a good command of the Dutch language.
- You have digital skills; you can work with a computer and are willing to learn to work in a new programme.

What do we offer you?
Challenging, responsible and varied work of social importance within a committed organisation. You will receive basic training in conversation techniques and Dutch law (legal procedures and victims' rights) and learn how people can react to far-reaching events. During your work, we continuously offer follow-up training courses in which you can learn more about topics such as traffic and/or assistance to children. You will join an enthusiastic and committed team of volunteers. Your point of contact and sparring partner is your team leader.
