Job tasks and duties
The University Centre Psychiatry (UCP) has a number of inpatient wards where patients struggling with psychiatric problems stay. Some patients also stay at the UCP on weekends.
There is no treatment offer for patients on weekends. In addition, not all patients receive daily visits. There is therefore a need for a low-threshold walk-in with a range of activities aimed at (leisure) time activities and encounters. You will initiate and supervise low-threshold activities to promote contact, relaxation and distraction, e.g. crafts, baking, taking a walk, talking, drinking coffee/tea. You will always work together with another volunteer.

- You recognise yourself as an open, enthusiastic and hospitable person and you have a representative appearance.
- You have a sense of responsibility and can react calmly and tactfully in difficult situations.
- You are empathetic/sensitive and like to offer a listening ear.
- You are creative and have good communication skills.
- You preferably have experience working with psychiatric patients.
- You have a good command of the Dutch language.
- You want to commit to us as a volunteer for a longer period of time.
- You are available at least 1 Saturday a month from 13:30 to 16:30.
- Preferably you have experience in and affinity with healthcare.
