Petting zoo de Beestenborg has existed for more than 30 years. Many farm animals live with us, namely goats, sheep, pony’s, donkeys, pigs, alpaca’s, chickens, ducks and peacocks. We also have companion animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and an aviary. We have a teahouse and a large playground. There is also a butterfly garden and our beekeeper has hives. The Beestenborg is open to the public seven days a week, and we attract many visitors small and large. From Monday to Friday, the care farm the Golden Raand is present with clients during the day.
The administrators of the Golden Raand are your point of contact and they are ultimately responsible for animals and the farm during the week. On weekends, the board of the Beestenborg is your point of contact.
Job tasks and duties
- The work at the Beestenborg consists of taking care of the animals, feeding and watering them, mucking out the stables and cleaning the meadows.
- In addition, regular maintenance is needed on stables, fences or there are other chores.
- The petting zoo has a teahouse where customers are served and there is a large playground.
- We also try to offer our visitors animal activities, such as pony rides, helping with feeding or other educational activities. Children's activities are organised at the Beestenborg several times a year, such as the sheep shearing festival, an Easter activity and the Christmas market.
Job skills and qualities
In mutual consultation, we will determine which activities best suit the individual process.
Extra information
Shifts at the Beestenborg are weekdays from 9am to 1pm or 1pm to 5pm. On weekends from 9.30am to 1pm and 1pm to 5pm. During the participation job, you will also rotate shifts on weekends, twice every four weeks.
