Job tasks and duties
Some children from the provinces of Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe are unable to go on holiday for medical, financial, or social reasons. Humanitas organizes holiday weeks specifically for these children during the summer holidays.
A team of volunteers offers the children a wonderful holiday week. These volunteers supervise the children and organize the program with many fun activities, relaxation, and enjoyment at the holiday location.
A total of 10 weeks are organized, including two weeks for children who need some extra support.
The Children's Holiday Weeks are organized by a project group. During the week itself, volunteers each supervise a group of children. In addition, there are head leaders at the holiday location who are responsible for the overall running of the week. They support the volunteers and ensure that everything runs smoothly and that the children have a wonderful week. There are two head leaders volunteers for each holiday week. We are urgently looking for:
Head Leader Children's Holiday Weeks, responsibilities:
- Together with your fellow head leaders, you are responsible for the smooth running of the holiday week.
- You, along with all the other volunteers, will ensure that children have a wonderful and carefree week.
- You will be the point of contact for the volunteers with any questions, special circumstances, or emergencies.
- You will organize daily evaluations with the volunteers.
- You will be the contact person for the project group and keep them informed of relevant developments.
- You will manage the budget for the holiday week.
Minimum education level: lbo/mavo/vmbo
Job skills and qualities
- You are familiar with extreme behavior and have tools to deal with it based on work/internship experience.
- You are creative, inventive, and patient, but you can also intervene and take action.
- You are sociable, driven, and know how to inspire and motivate people.
- You have natural authority and can make decisive decisions when necessary.
- You have a sense of responsibility towards the children, their parents, and the volunteers.
- You communicate well verbally and in writing.
- You have an affinity with the core values of Humanitas.
- You are willing to participate in the training courses required for this position.
- A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is required.
- You are at least 18 years old.
