Are you passionate about finance and keen to help others get their money matters in order? Then this vacancy is for you! Geldwijs is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support local residents with various financial questions.

Neighbours can drop by by appointment at WIJ Korrewegwijk (the Floreshuis) and at the Neighbourhood Playground Association in de Hoogte (Cortinghuis). The Geldwijs team consists of two WIJ professionals, a Social Counsellor and a WMO consultant and a number of volunteers. There is also cooperation with Social Services (Income Counsellor), the Groningen Credit Bank (front office employee) and the WIJ student team. Employees are jointly responsible for shaping the Geldwijs project. Every afternoon there is a joint kick-off and conclusion.
You work in pairs on residents' support questions, such as:

• Drafting a budget plan (income and expenses).
• Applications regarding assistance such as special assistance.
• Applications regarding remission of municipal tax, water board tax.
• Applications for a food bank package.
• Checking benefits, such as rent and care allowance and mini schemes.

• You have an affinity for money matters.
• You have knowledge of budgeting.
• Administrative skills and being able to work in a computerised system is a requirement.
• Some knowledge of the social map of Groningen in terms of schemes and facilities both municipal and national schemes.
• You have good communication (interview) skills.
• You can work punctually.
• You are stress-resistant and have a firm footing.
• You can work in a dynamic environment.
• You are available for one or two half-days, but you are also flexible.
• You are presentable.
