A Michi-No-Eki is a Japanese-style staging area, where you can take a break, drink coffee, change your baby, read a newspaper. But you can also charge your phone or mobility scooter for free and pick up information about the neighbourhood (activities).
With the arrival of the Michi-Noeki, we hope that residents will (continue to) go out more often and keep moving. It will also be possible to rent the accompanying office if you want to work in the centre of the neighbourhood and/or, for example, hold a consultation hour.
It is made of scrap wood and is energy-neutral, so it's very sustainable! On the inside it will have a fresh Scandinavian interior, which is great.
Job tasks and duties
Would you like to contribute to the neighbourhood by being a point of contact for residents? Do you think it is important that everyone can stay mobile and make contact with other residents? And above all: do you like meeting people from your own neighbourhood? Then we are looking for you!
- As a host, you will be the point of contact for visitors to the Michi-Noeki.
- You will speak to people and provide them with information about the activities in the neighbourhood.
- You pour a cup of coffee or tea, enjoy a friendly chat and keep the Michi-Noeki looking tidy.
- In a participation job, you work at least 16 hours a week.
Job skills and qualities
- You are available for at least 1 half-day period (4.5 hours consecutive).
- You are sociable, friendly and hospitable.
- You like to know what is going on in the neighbourhood and can tell this to visitors.
- You work neatly and feel involved in the neighbourhood.
Extra information
First Michi Noeki is open Monday to Friday from 09:00-17:00.
There are 2 shifts per day: from 08:45-13:15 and from 13:00-17:30.
As a volunteer, you are available at least 1 shift per week.
