Job tasks and duties
For our new kitchen project Healthy Cooking & Eating Together we are looking for 5 assistant volunteers who will work with the managing kitchen assistant to shape this project. In June/July, there will be a training programme where, as an assistant, you will learn about health and digestion, healthy vegetarian recipes, personal & kitchen hygiene and guiding participants, sustainability and world cuisine. After the summer, you will join the 5-month project where you will apply this knowledge together with new volunteers and provide guidance in this. The aim is to share knowledge while cooking, guide people and enjoy cooking & eating together.
The assistant kitchen volunteer position includes:
- To attend the training programme on 5 Thursdays from 9:00-13:00 in June/July (with possible roll-out after the summer).
- A try-out with senior citizen lunch and a joint village dinner.
- Taking part as an assistant in the 5-month kitchen project on Thursday mornings.
Job skills and qualities
We are looking for a volunteer who:
- Enthusiastic about the vision and objective of Place the World.
- Has a service-oriented and friendly attitude.
- Can interact respectfully with visitors from different backgrounds
- Have a practical attitude and can work independently
- Has good communication skills
- Available on Thursdays (mornings).
