General Board member

Urgent
Buurtcentrum Sonde 2000 • job opening nr. 13715

Interesting about this job

The activities can be very different in nature: meeting and connecting, developing your creativity, exercising and promoting health, or supporting with certain questions. There are activities where residents themselves participate in groups or individually, and others where you can come and watch and listen more passively. These activities are often carried out under the guidance of a "tutor" or "volunteer" for that particular activity.

We aim to keep access to activities low-threshold and prices affordable for everyone. Hospitality and service orientation are our top priorities. Day-to-day management is in the hands of professional paid staff and volunteers.
We welcome new suggestions and initiatives from local residents. Of course, everything has to fit within the budget provided by the Municipality.

Job tasks and duties

The board of the Sonde2000 / Tuinwijk Foundation manages two neighbourhood centres: Sonde 2000 (in the Vensterschool behind "de Parrel") and TuinPad (located in the Bessemoerparkje between Tuinwijk and Paddepoel). All kinds of activities take place in both community centres. Some are initiated by the residents , some by the board. We try to serve the residents of Selwerd, Paddepoel and the Tuinwijk as well as possible.
The board of the St Sonde 2000 / the Tuinwijk is looking for expansion with currently 2-3 board members.
As a general board member you can take on specific tasks, such as:

  • Contact person volunteers / volunteer policy.
  • Contact person teachers / teacher policy.
  • Contact person PR (together with PR volunteer).
  • Inventory new activities in cooperation with residents and other centres.
  • Implement and/or maintain ICT within the community centres.
  • Contact person / representative building management (e.g. within the Vensterschool).
  • Contact person / representative of the neighbourhood centres within the SPTK area.

Job skills and qualities

  • Has a vision of socio-cultural work and the needs of residents.
  • Defines policy within the community centres together with the other board members.
  • Has communication skills.
  • Can work well together in a board.

Extra information

We meet about 10 times a year to deliberate. You do not necessarily have to come from one of the participating districts to participate in the board. Nor do you necessarily have to be involved in a particular activity. We would appreciate it if new board members come from different non-traditional groups in our society.
