Job tasks and duties
People wanted for the Groningen chess tournament in the Christmas holidays: high-priority are board members and also people for the committee of recommendations to be set up. You do not have to be a chess player, perhaps an advantage if you do not play chess.
This tournament has been around since 1963 and is always played during the Christmas holidays. There is room and space for all levels. It is an international chess tournament. We want to broaden it to include draughts and other mind sports. To keep the tournament going, board members are urgently needed. Current treasurer Jan van Os, is stepping down and chairman Robert de Boer remains. Dries Koster joins new from August 2023. Tournament director is Govert Pelikaan.
We will work on obtaining (structural) subsidies from the municipality and province, Hanzehogeschool and RUG, companies and other institutions. Furthermore, we are looking to broaden with draughts. We want to set up a committee of recommendations with people who support the tournament. For the board, we are looking for at least three new members. We will then divide tasks and portfolios. A treasurer is needed anyway and someone to go after subsidies together with the other board members.

Job skills and qualities
Able to organise and think on the board. We are looking for a treasurer and secretary and someone to approach organisations with us for grants. We really do it together and share tasks. Very fun work.
Extra information
Needed and useful work! We have a good and nice tournament director.
But support is also needed there.
We are mainly looking for board members and thinkers. You don't have to be able to play chess, we do have those people.
