Foundation Celebrate Life (Stichting Vier het Leven) organises theatre, concert, film and museum visits with accompaniment for elderly people who can no longer, want or dare to undertake these activities independently. Culture inspires and connects and under the motto ‘Samen Uit, Samen Genieten’ we give shape to this with our team, so that we can count on about 30,000 participations every year.
You as a volunteer will be part of a social and sociable team.
And you will contribute to our common goal: reducing loneliness among the elderly!
Job tasks and duties
You will ensure that Celebrate Life is available by phone on weekdays from 09:00-18:00. After 6pm and on weekends, enquiries/calls come in via voicemail. As a telephone operator, you are the liaison between caller and organisation. You handle urgent questions, but above all you are able to offer a listening ear to our elderly people.
Main activities:
- Answering and handling questions (mainly from participants) that come in on the general number.
- Transmitting urgent matters to the coordinators and/or volunteers of the outings.
- Recording the questions and actions taken in our registration system.
Minimum education level: lbo/mavo/vmbo
Job skills and qualities
You are indispensable within the organisation as ‘business card’ of Celebrate Life!
To carry out your role successfully, you have an affinity with older people and preferably knowledge of the Vier het Leven working methods. Preferably, you have experience as a telephone operator. You have good telephone communication skills and a pleasant voice. You can work independently and under pressure. You are customer-friendly, service-oriented and have good computer skills. Work will be carried out from home. You must have your own computer/laptop and telephone.
Extra information
You will be trained for a half-day session at our office in Huizen (from 10:00 – 14:00). You will have the opportunity to take part in periodic training sessions, meetings and regular work consultations.
