Stichting de Productie Groningen's mission is to stimulate and strengthen the film industry in Groningen by initiating, developing and (co)producing film from fiction to documentary and from feature film to series. The production aims to develop film talent and strengthen the film climate in Groningen and therefore aims to realise an increasing number of film productions. The foundation has no profit motive.
In the past, we produced a.o. the 6-part drama series Een Dag Uit Duizen Dromen, the short film competition the Cine Challenge and currently we have six projects in the pipeline. These projects will be produced entirely by us or in co-production with other producers.
Foundation the Production has a work group and a producer in charge of the day-to-day operations.
As a board member you will contribute to the above mentioned, think about which film projects are feasible, represent the foundation at important events such as premieres or meetings with policymakers, support the performers by realising the preconditions. Being a board member is great because you can actually contribute to a better film climate in the Groningen region.
Job tasks and duties
- You participate in the 5 yearly board meetings.
- You read up on film plans to assess the feasibility of putting them into production.
- Depending on your position duties may differ.
Minimum education level: hbo/wo
Job skills and qualities
We are looking for enthusiastic people with their hearts in the film industry who are willing and able to invest time and energy in further developing the Groningen film infrastructure by contributing to our film production house as a board member. You will set the broad outlines, monitor them, support implementation and create the conditions for producers and filmmakers to produce films.
People who can think strategically, have a good overall view and can manage from good governance. A network in Groningen's film and cultural world is nice but not strictly necessary. Some proficiency in having effective meetings is considered a plus.
