The Floreshuis is a voluntary organisation. We work with as few professionals as possible and as many volunteers as possible from the neighbourhood. The Floreshuis community centre is located in the Indische buurt/Korrewegwijk neighbourhood in Groningen. The Floreshuis wants to be ‘the house of the neighbourhood’ a place where everyone is welcome and where everybody can come. A place where everyone is welcome and where you can be yourself together. We want to be of significance for everyone who wants something or wants to make the neighbourhood more beautiful. We support or help these people. We want to make things possible. The Floreshuis does not organise activities itself, but encourages, facilitates and supports neighbourhood residents who come up with initiatives and ideas. We provide a platform and support for local residents who organise their own activities.
We are looking for a: Secretary of the Floreshuis board
The secretary is a member of the board. The board is (in principle) a remote board. Day-to-day management is in the hands of the site manager. Together with the chairman and the treasurer, the secretary is ééone of the site manager's sparring partners and together form the executive board (DB). The DB meets monthly to prepare the agenda for the board meeting. The position is unpaid.
Job tasks and duties
Duties of the secretary include:
- Acting as an information point for the board and outsiders.
- To judge whether documents received should be brought to the attention of the board.
- Make sure board members and involved have relevant information in time.
- Collect, organise and manage relevant information in an accessible archive.
- Reporting of meetings.
- Sending meeting documents, reports and agenda to board members.
- Monitoring registration with the Chamber of Commerce.
Minimum education level: hbo/wo
Job skills and qualities
Job requirements for the role of secretary are:
- Knowledge of computerised systems.
- Service-oriented attitude.
- Organisational ability.
- Administrative experience.
Extra information
We are looking for a new board member to fill the position of secretary. We meet once a month on the last Wednesday of the month for a board meeting. The board eats together beforehand to start the meeting afterwards. We are looking for someone who can work in an organised way.
