Neighborhood Nature Guide

Natuurmonumenten • job opening nr. 13928

Interesting about this job

In Kardinge, northeast of the city of Groningen, the Neighborhood Nature Guides regularly arrange fun nature excursions and other activities for children and/or adults. We go on foot or by bike through the area and along the way we tell about the plants and animals we encounter, but also about the management and history of this versatile and varied nature area. Kardinge's landscape includes a number of relatively young deciduous forests, wet reedbeds and extensively grazed grassland.

What do we offer?

  • A wonderful workplace and a friendly group of fellow nature guides.
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses.
  • Volunteer agreement including insurance.
  • Appropriate dress for your role as a district nature guide.
  • A volunteer card for discounts on products/services of Natuurmonumenten.

Job tasks and duties

Our excursions usually last about an hour and a half and are aimed partly at young children with their parents and partly at adults. We also organise themed excursions, such as an early songbird excursion and a mushroom walk. We prepare our activities together as much as possible. Once or twice a year we meet to discuss all practical matters.

Job skills and qualities

Most field trips are on Sundays, preparation and consultation meetings on other days, by arrangement.
