Noorderzon Festival of Performing Arts & Society is the combination of an international arts festival featuring exciting contemporary performing arts from all parts of the world.... as well as a grand summer festival in a freely accessible park.
Everyone is welcome to visit the festival, or come to work. As a crew you can help in various ways to make the 34th edition of Noorderzon a success, for example as a Volunteer with our Children's Programme. Below you can read exactly what this position entails.
The 34th edition of Noorderzon will take place from 22 August - 1 September 2024!
Job tasks and duties
Every year we set up a special 'private' area on our festival grounds for our youngest visitors. The age of this group of visitors is between 4 and 14 years. For them, we organise performances and various workshops & 'do-things'. We are looking for volunteers who would like to help and assist with this.
So do you enjoy working with children and are you a bit creative? Then this is a really fun place to work as a volunteer. At this venue, you will be supervised as a volunteer by our venue manager and often by the artists and creators of these performances and workshops. This is the most creative, fun and young place at Noorderzon!
Job skills and qualities
- You are sociable and can communicate clearly and kindly with both children and parents.
- You are creative and enjoy helping with workshops and activities.
- You are reliable and keep appointments and schedules.
- You are a team player and work well with other volunteers and crew.
Are you between 12-16 years old then this is a really nice place for you as your first contact with volunteering at Noorderzon. We make special space for you here at this location in a few places. In general, there is a minimum age of 16 here.
Extra information
Do you work at least 3 shifts? Then we will give you a free ticket to a performance at the festival. Do you work during meal times? Then you can join us for dinner. You will also receive a number of tokens for each day you work.
