In Hoogkerk, parents and their young children can meet each other weekly at one of the playgrounds in the neighbourhood or at WIJ Hoogkerk. This is organised by the Kansrijke Start Hoogkerk project. Alternating on Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings, there are fun toddler and preschool activities and parents can also ask questions about raising children and growing up. A professional is present and sometimes specific themes are discussed.
You will have many different contacts and will work in a friendly team. You will receive a volunteer contract and compensation. In addition, you can participate in courses and training as a volunteer.
Job tasks and duties
As a volunteer, you will receive parents and their children (0 to 4 years) with open arms and provide a warm welcome. The most important tasks:
- Creating a cozy, familiar and safe atmosphere in which parents and children (0-4 years) feel at ease.
- Acting as a point of contact for parents and children who visit the toddler and nursery activities.
- Thinking along about and supporting themes and activities. For example, reading aloud, crafting or making music.
- Stimulating and supporting parents in organizing activities and meeting each other.
- Informing new parents about the activities that are organized.
- Providing coffee and tea and, if necessary, getting groceries for it.
- Guaranteeing the privacy of parents and children.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the location and, if necessary, cleaning the toys.
We also organize an extra music activity. For this, we are looking for an enthusiastic hostess from 9:00 to 12:00. The dates are:
- For children from 0 to 2 years: Friday 12, 19, 26 September and 3 October.
- For children from 2 to 4 years: 10, 17, 31 October and 7 November.
Job skills and qualities
- You have an affinity with parents and young children (0-4 years).
- You are hospitable and socially skilled.
- You are a good listener and have an open attitude.
- You are honest: you can handle confidential information well.
