Do you bring innovation with respect for tradition?
The Royal Association for Popular Entertainment Groningen (KVvV) is looking for a new chairman who wants to lead one of the oldest and most beloved associations in the city and surrounding area with passion and vision. Our mission is to bring together people from Groningen through events that celebrate cultural heritage, with the most famous example being the celebration of Groningen's Relief (Bommen Berend) on 28 August.
Job tasks and duties
- You are the face of the KVvV, both in the city and in the media.
- You manage the board and lead the general member meetings.
- Together with the board, you initiate and monitor new programs and initiatives that fit within our objectives.
- You maintain the network with cultural, social and administrative partners.
- You ensure a healthy balance between preserving tradition and room for innovation in our activities.
Minimum education level: hbo/wo
Job skills and qualities
We are looking for a connecting and energetic chairperson who:
- Embraces innovation, but understands the importance of traditions.
- Draws inspiration from Groningen's heritage and knows how to translate this into future-proof and appealing activities.
- Has natural leadership, vision and organizational insight.
- Is good at managing volunteers, collaborating with partners (including the municipality, cultural institutions) and maintaining public relations.
- Has a warm heart for the city and its residents.
