Do you bring renewal with respect for tradition?
The Koninklijke Vereeniging voor Volksvermaken Groningen (KVvV) is looking for a new chairman who wants to lead one of the oldest and most beloved associations in the city and Ommeland with passion and vision. Our mission is to bring Groningers together through events that celebrate cultural heritage, with the most famous example being the celebration of Gronings Ontzet (Bommen Berend) on 28 August.
Job tasks and duties
- You are the face of the KVvV, both in the city and in the media.
- You direct the board and lead the general membership meetings.
- You initiate and monitor together with the board new programmes and initiatives that fit within our objectives.
- You maintain the network with cultural, social and administrative partners.
- You ensure a healthy balance between preservation of tradition and room for innovation in our activities.
Minimum education level: hbo/wo
Job skills and qualities
We are looking for a connecting and decisive chairman who:
- Embraces innovation, but understands the importance of traditions.
- Inspires from Groningen's heritage and knows how to translate this into future-proof and appealing activities.
- Lacks natural leadership, vision and organisational insight.
- Good at managing volunteers, collaborating with partners (e.g. municipality, cultural institutions) and maintaining public relations.
- Likes the city and its residents.
