Wijkcentrum Floreshuis is "the house of the neighbourhood" located in the Korrewegwijk/ Indische buurt in Groningen. It is a place where everyone is welcome, people can be themselves and people can meet each other. We want to be of significance to anyone with an initiative, an idea, or the desire to make the neighbourhood more beautiful. Above all, we want to offer an alternative 'home' to everyone in the neighbourhood.
The Floreshuis, as a voluntary organisation, does not organise activities itself but encourages, facilitates and supports neighbourhood residents who come up with initiatives and ideas. We work with as few paid staff as possible and with as many volunteers from the neighbourhood as possible. The Floreshuis stands for:

Job tasks and duties
Because of the upcoming departure of a board member, we are looking for a new board member. If you like fulfilling a social function then this is for you. The board is a remote board. That means the board basically meets once a month and the day-to-day running of the Flores House is carried by the site manager and staff. The board now consists of seven people. The topics discussed in the board meeting include: personnel matters, finances, cooperation with the municipality and other parties, building maintenance.
Every second Thursday of the month is the board meeting. This starts at 6pm with a communal meal. The commitment is about 4 hours per month. Sometimes board members are asked to be present at other meetings or to think about something outside the meeting - this is always by mutual agreement.
The board consists of a group of people with a heart for the neighbourhood and the people who live there. We all do our bit in our own way and are proud to be part of the most beautiful community centre in Groningen.
Minimum education level: hbo/wo
Job skills and qualities
The candidates we are looking for do not need to have experience as a director. But if you do have then we are definitely interested and would love to have an interview with you. If you have experience in the legal field, that would be very welcome. But above all, we are looking for people who want to get involved with the board.
