Accessibility Project Volunteer

As an accessibility project volunteer, you will work to map and improve the accessibility of the Hortus. Based on the existing analysis by the Groningen Accessibility Working Group (WTG), you will develop a concrete and feasible plan. This plan can be broad. It covers not only paths or thresholds, but also signage, information provision, and integration with the surrounding area.
This could include:

• Access between Beatrixoord/Zinn and the Hortus.
• Identification of obstacles related to mobility, orientation, and comprehension.
• You will collaborate with Hortus staff and volunteers and coordinate with external partners such as healthcare institutions, peer support groups, and other stakeholders.

The volunteer we're looking for:

• Has experience with project-based work and/or accessibility projects.
• Is able to empathize with the experiences and possibilities (and limitations) of various target groups.
• Can make plans and implement them within the organization.
• Enjoys collaborating with people both within and outside the organization.
• Is committed to a green and inclusive environment.
