MXT is the place where technology knows no boundaries and industries are reinvented. It's more than a conference: it's a meeting place for innovation and inspiration. Here, technology-driven and world-changing entrepreneurs come together for groundbreaking ideas and groundbreaking conversations.
The MXT program offers a diverse mix of keynotes, workshops, panels, inspirational sessions, networking opportunities, coaching and investment opportunities, side events, dinners, drinks, and parties. MXT takes place during Eurosonic Noorderslag on January 14 and 15, 2026, in the former Comics Museum in Groningen. The event focuses on tech founders, startups, scale-ups, investors, the innovation ecosystem, entrepreneurial students, and anyone with a passion for technology.
This year, MXT is strengthening its partnership with Eurosonic Noorderslag. That's why you can enjoy a strong musical program in the evening and on Friday, January 16.
Job tasks and duties
What do we offer you as a volunteer at MXT 2026?

- Registration of hours worked for your training, or a certificate of participation – handy for your resume.
- Access to the full program in the hideout – the beating heart of the event – outside of your shifts.

- An invitation to the MXT volunteer dinner, approximately three weeks after the event, where we'll celebrate its success.

Tasks and Responsibilities
We have several volunteer positions, and here's a brief overview of what you can expect.
Set-Up and Take-Down
During the set-up and take-down of MXT 2026, you'll have the most diverse work of the entire conference. You'll be the set builder, mover, finishing touch, handyman, interior decorator, and a bit of everything all rolled into one. Together with the team, you'll ensure the MXT hideout looks tip-top in no time.
Venue Manager
Sometimes there are multiple program components in multiple locations. At the venue where you're the venue manager, you'll ensure everything runs according to plan. If it doesn't, you'll take care of it!
Bartender
As a bartender, you'll probably be the most popular person at the entire MXT event. You'll be the go-to person for a refreshing beer, fresh coffee, or a delicious soft drink.
Entrance Host (Registration)
Attendees will come to you to have their tickets scanned and pick up their wristbands. You'll also be the central point of contact if they have any questions. As a host, you're the welcoming face of the conference.
Runner
A lot happens during MXT, and you'll undoubtedly have to make last-minute arrangements or need assistance. You're that person! You're the jack-of-all-trades we can deploy whenever needed. This could include moving materials, running last-minute errands, assisting in the food court or at the entrance, and much more.

- Setup: January 7-13* (excluding weekend)
- Conference: January 14 and 15
- Warner Showcase: January 16
- ESNS program (evenings): January 15 + 16
- Termination: January 17, 19, and 20*

Availability
We ask for a minimum availability of two shifts (each shift lasts 6-8 hours). If you are less available, we can probably work around it. Please let us know!
