Job tasks and duties
You will lead a weekly craft afternoon of approximately two hours, preferably on Tuesday afternoons. The group consists of guests who enjoy creative activities together in a safe environment. Level or pace of work is not important – conviviality and attention to each other are paramount. Your responsibilities include:
- Preparing and leading the craft afternoon (knitting, crocheting, embroidery, etc.).
- Helping guests with their projects.
- Creating a warm, inviting atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
- Engaging with guests.
Job skills and qualities
You enjoy working with people and are a strong communicator. You're passionate about our charity. You're also interested in crafts and enjoy sharing them with others. Experience leading (small) groups is helpful, but not required.
Extra information
The Hamelhuys Foundation is the Center for Living with and After Cancer in Groningen and Assen. (Former) cancer patients and their loved ones can visit free of charge, without an appointment, for a cup of coffee, a chat, a listening ear, and activities that promote well-being. The center is partly run by (trained) volunteers. Activities, workshops, and lectures are held as needed. Our primary focus is on connecting with others in the same situation. Talking together, having a drink, participating in an activity, or simply being there for each other.
