Learning to cycle is a big step towards greater independence: getting to work, school or an appointment without depending on others or public transport. That is why 'Kansrijke Start De Wijert and Corpus' organises cycling lessons in De Wijert especially for women. As most participants do not (yet) understand Dutch, we are looking for a volunteer who can translate during the lessons. We are specifically looking for someone who can interpret from Dutch to Arabic or French.

- You can participate in Link050 courses and trainings for free.
Job tasks and duties
- You support the cycling teacher by translating the explanations of the cycling exercises into Arabic or French.
- You help the participants to better understand the instructions and feel more confident while learning to cycle.
- In addition to practising on the bike, traffic rules are also explained during a theory lesson by a teacher. Here, you provide the translation.
- If you like it, you can later join joint themed bike rides, during which the women continue to practice and meet each other.
Job skills and qualities
- You enjoy cycling and are willing to support on several Thursdays.
- You speak both Dutch and Arabic and/or French.
- You can translate simple instructions and enjoy motivating participants.
- You will find it helpful to put on comfortable clothes and a mackintosh for when it rains.
The theory class will be on Tuesday morning, 25 November. The cycling lessons will be held (subject to weather conditions) on the following mornings between 09:30 and 11:30:

- Thursday, January 15
