The Work and Income Client Council represents the interests of residents of the municipality of Groningen who are affected by the Participation Act or have an income up to 120% of the social assistance standard.
As a member of the Work and Income Client Council, you can contribute your thoughts and contribute to discussions by providing advice on proposed municipal policies, from the perspective of the target group. This allows you to influence policy decisions.
Their scope encompasses topics related to employment, participation, income, poverty policy, minimum income policy, and debt counseling. The requests for advice (from the Municipality of Groningen) are extremely diverse, which is extremely valuable. As a result, the Work and Income Client Council not only provides advice but also gains knowledge.
Job tasks and duties
As a member of the Work and Income Client Council, you will read and evaluate policy documents at a higher professional education (HBO) level. In forming advice, which is a core task of the Work and Income Client Council, you will consider your own experience, the stories of residents in the target group, and conclusions from research reports.
Members of the Work and Income Client Council also regularly attend conferences/workshops related to topics on which the Work and Income Client Council provides advice and engage in discussions with, among others, aldermen, the Ombudsman, and the municipal council.

Minimum education level: mbo
Job skills and qualities
- Resident of the municipality of Groningen.
- Receiving social assistance.
- Positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiastic about immersing oneself in the subject matter.
- Ability to think in solutions.
- Good communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Knowledge of the municipal organization is a plus.
Extra information
