- You can do this volunteer work from home, anywhere in the Netherlands or Belgium. All communication takes place via email, WhatsApp, and Microsoft Teams.
Job tasks and duties
In our "Autism is Versatile" project, you can become a regular blogger. You'll write occasional blog posts about your own experiences.
What are the responsibilities?
- You'll write a blog post at least 5 times a year, and a maximum of 10 times a year. You'll adjust your blog post based on feedback from the editorial team.
- You'll help raise awareness of the blog project by sharing your own blog posts within your own network.
- Twice a year, there's an online meeting via Teams with the coordinator, the editorial team, and the other bloggers (if that's too overwhelming, we'll find an alternative format together).
The amount of time you spend on a blog post and incorporating the feedback you receive varies from person to person. The editorial team will ensure the blog post is ultimately published on the website. Therefore, no technical knowledge is required. You'll receive feedback from the editorial team on every blog post you write.
When writing a blog post, you are bound by our guidelines. These outline what we expect from a blog and what we expect from bloggers. Within the guidelines, you are free to write about whatever you like. After all, it's about your life and what's important to you. You can also find inspiration in our existing themes.
We also publish blogs annually on the theme of the NVA Autism Week (in the spring) and our own theme week (in the fall). No blogs are published during the summer holidays.
Job skills and qualities
For our blog, we're looking for adults with autism who enjoy blogging indefinitely. Because we want to provide a picture of autism based on personal experiences, only people with an official autism diagnosis are participating in this project. The goal of the project is to showcase the multifaceted nature of autism. Therefore, more than ten different bloggers are blogging for this project. The following points are important for our bloggers:
- You enjoy sharing your own experiences with autism with others.
- You can write engagingly and clearly, or are willing to learn how to do so.
