Job tasks and duties
We're looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to help an eight-year-old Syrian boy, who lives with his family in an asylum seekers' center in Groningen, with his schoolwork and fun activities. The volunteer will be for three mornings a week, lasting approximately 1.5 hours. You'll first do some schoolwork together and then enjoy a fun activity. If you'd like to help, but three mornings are too much, please let us know. We're happy to discuss it!
The boy enjoys riding dirt bikes, playing soccer, building with Lego, and playing with cars. He already speaks some Dutch, and his father speaks good English.
Job skills and qualities
- You are patient and enjoy working with children.
- You enjoy taking an active role in supervising schoolwork (grades 4-5) and offering fun, educational activities.
- You are interested in other cultures and are open-minded.
