As a communication volunteer, you will think and work on the Hortus' broad communication. You will help us properly translate our identity and ambitions to the outside world. You will do this together with colleagues and other volunteers, with plenty of room for your own ideas and input.

Job tasks and duties

Your duties include:

  • writing and editing texts for websites, newsletters and other communication tools.
  • Thinking along about the communication strategy and the right tone and message.
  • Creating and planning content for our online channels (such as social media)
  • Collecting and telling stories from the Hortus: from plants and gardens to people behind the scenes.
  • Signalling opportunities to increase visibility and engagement with the Hortus

Job skills and qualities

  • You have experience in communications (e.g. as a communications consultant, editor, content specialist or experienced volunteer)
  • You like to write well and you know how to adapt texts to different target audiences.
  • You think strategically but also like to roll up your sleeves practically.
  • You work independently but also actively seek collaboration.
  • You feel involved in nature, culture, heritage or social organisations
