It's scientifically proven that smell and touch are the last memories to evoke in people with dementia.
During the week of March 9th, we're organizing one beauty session per floor (there are four floors) in our nursing home as part of our NL-doet campaign. This gives our residents a fantastic time! By painting nails, giving a hand massage, brushing hair, or doing whatever you enjoy. An hour is long enough, and you'll really make a positive difference.

A staff member from our nursing home is always present at the beauty session. The goal is to make it a pleasant experience.
Job tasks and duties
- Painting nails.
- Giving hand massages.
- Applying makeup.
- ...or whatever you like!
- Chatting with a resident at the same time.

- You enjoy doing beauty projects with others.
- You're sociable.
- You're patient.
- You enjoy socializing in small groups.
