Job tasks and duties
The Rivierenbuurt Repair Café is open every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and starting in February, it will be at our new location in the Talmahuis. Everyone is welcome at the Repair Café, and we'll work with visitors to see if we can help them repair their clothes and appliances while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. We're getting busier and are looking for a second person to handle the clothing.
Job skills and qualities
- Be able to use a sewing machine, needle, and thread, or willing to learn.
- Interact with guests, evaluate them, and explain what you're doing, as they'll stay with you until you're finished.
Extra information
We consist of a team of eight, with varying attendance. Currently, there's one person for textiles, and we'd like to expand this to two. Sewing machines and supplies are available. As a Repair Café, we operate on a donation basis to ensure accessibility for everyone, and we do this with sustainability in mind.
We also invite young people/students, etc., who are eager to learn and available for at least six months to apply.
