The Groningen 4daagse is the Netherlands' new walking event, where sportsmanship, culture and conviviality come together. From Tuesday 4 to Friday 7 August 2026, you will walk in four stages through the best Groningen has to offer - from the bustling city centre to the tranquillity of the vast Ommeland. With daily start and finish on the atmospheric Grote Markt, up to 3,000 participants can choose from distances of 20 or 40 kilometres.
During a large-scale event like the Groningen 4daagse, safety is crucial. As a traffic controller, you are the hero who allows walkers to cross safely, controlling traffic and keeping it calm - no matter how busy it gets.
Job tasks and duties
- Guiding traffic at intersections and crossings.
- Work according to directions from route coordination.
- Helping to keep participant flows running smoothly.
Job skills and qualities
- Certificate traffic controller? Top! (not compulsory).
- You are stress-resistant and friendly.
- You radiate calmness and overview.
Extra information
- No fee for new certificates.
- Food and drinks are of course provided.
- Fixed points and mobile spots possible.
