The Groningen Four Days Marches is the new walking event in the Netherlands, where sportsmanship, culture, and conviviality converge. From Tuesday, August 4th to Friday, August 7th, 2026, you'll walk in four stages through the most beautiful Groningen has to offer – from the bustling city center to the tranquility of the expansive Ommeland region. Starting and finishing daily on the atmospheric Grote Markt (main square), up to 3,000 participants can choose from distances of 20 or 40 kilometers.
During a large-scale event like the Groningen Four Days Marches, safety is paramount. As a traffic controller, you're the hero who guides walkers safely across the street, controls traffic, and keeps things calm – no matter how busy it gets.
Job tasks and duties
- Direct traffic at intersections and pedestrian crossings.
- Follow the directions of the route coordinator.
- Help ensure smooth traffic flow.
Job skills and qualities
- Traffic controller certification? Great! (not required).
- You're stress-resistant and friendly.
- You radiate calm and clarity.
Extra information
- There's no reimbursement for new certificates.
- Food and drinks are provided, of course.
- Fixed and mobile spots are available.
- Also suitable for early risers.
