Broekzak Vestzak is a clothing-sharing project, organised by and for neighbourhood residents of De Wijert.
At BZVZ everyone can bring in clothes for free and pick them out, even just picking something is allowed!
This way, we give clothing a second life in the neighbourhood and prevent waste. A real win-win!
Job tasks and duties
What will you do?
On Wednesday afternoons, we offer a clothing recovery service. Think:
- A new hem
- A loose button
- A new zipper
- For a small price, you will help make clothes wearable again. That is why we are looking for someone who:
- Handy with the sewing machine
- Likes helping others
- Likes working in a team
- In addition, would you like to help sort clothes on other days? You may, but the emphasis is on sewing on Wednesdays.
Job skills and qualities
- Practical skills
- Be able to sew (manually but preferably with the sewing machine)
- Be able to make minor repairs, such as:
- Cut or mend hems
- Sewing on buttons
- repairing small tears
- Basic knowledge of fabrics and clothing is a plus
- Social skills
- Friendly and patient with visitors
- Cooperate well in a team
- Open and helpful attitude

When?
Broekzak Vestzak is open on:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 13:00 to 16:00.
