Job tasks and duties
What do you bring to the table as Treasurer?
As Treasurer, you are responsible for the foundation's financial policy and administration. You monitor the budget, keep track of income and expenditure, and ensure the board always has up-to-date and reliable financial information.
Minimum education level: hbo/wo
Job skills and qualities
What will you do?
- Monitor the foundation's financial position and the implementation of the budget and annual accounts.
- Read, interpret, and explain the foundation's annual accounts.
- Working with the director, serve as a point of contact and sparring partner for the accountant and bookkeeper.
- Advise and support the director on financial issues and decisions.
- Contribute to the financial consequences of staffing, project planning, and policy proposals.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and discuss them with the board.
- (Preferred) Support with grant applications and financial reporting as needed.
What you bring to the table:
- Sufficient financial insight to assess and explain budgets, annual accounts, and management information.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information in an understandable way.
- Reliability, accuracy, and a proactive attitude are essential.
- Preferred: experience with grant applications and grant accountability.
- A critical, investigative, and entrepreneurial mindset.
- A clear vision on women's empowerment.

We strive for a board that reflects the diverse backgrounds of our target group and offers expertise in personnel, organization, finance, and legal matters.
What can you expect?
- The board meets 6 to 8 times a year and also participates in activities organized by Jasmijn.
- The treasurer's commitment requires an average of 2 additional hours per month.
- This is an unpaid position, but you will receive a lot in return.

The Multicultural Women's Center Jasmijn Foundation offers a place in Groningen where women feel welcome and accepted for who they are. In a safe, respectful environment, women are encouraged to utilize their talents and grow. By encouraging participation, learning, and self-development, Jasmijn supports women in finding their own path and making confident choices that contribute to their independence and personal growth.
Jasmijn employs nine paid staff members and a total of approximately 85 volunteers. We reach an average of 400 women per week. In addition to an annual offering of 50 courses and workshops, we have many projects and activities in the "language - participation - employment" chain. We also offer activities and information sessions on a healthy lifestyle. Jasmijn has a location on Floresstraat and works in various neighborhood locations.
