At the youth centre, no day is the same. Sometimes kids come in for a chat, another moment you're painting a wall. Next day you're restocking supplies, followed by baking biscuits with kids. A work supervisor is present to keep everything on track. If you want, you may get the BHV certificate.
Job tasks and duties
- You and the other volunteer are the face of the youth centre
- You keep the premises clean, whole and safe
- You address visitors on desirable behaviour
- You support activities
- You stand behind the bar and sell soft drinks and snacks
Job skills and qualities
- You are good at setting boundaries
- You have a sense of humour
- You have an eye for youth, you remember well what it is like to be young
- You are practical and hands-on
- A VOG is mandatory
