Every Tuesday and Friday morning there is a Parent & Child café in Haren. Parents/guardians with young children can meet here. There is entertainment and space for children to play.
Parents can express their ideas and the Parent & Child Café thinks along, organizes and facilitates. Parents can walk in without an appointment and, if necessary, light (parenting) help can be provided quickly. WIJ Groningen often has the expertise in-house for this.

Job tasks and duties
The Parent & Child Café is looking for a hospitable volunteer for Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9:00 am to 11:45 am. Of course you can bring your own child, so that you can combine volunteer work and caring for your child. You are the first point of contact for parents and children who visit the café. Your tasks include:
- Reception from parents and their children (babies and toddlers)
- Provide a warm welcome and a cozy atmosphere
- Supervising activities such as reading, crafts, toddler gym, sensory play and mini disco
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Listening to the wishes and needs of parents and children
- Contribute to the organization of new activities (your own input is appreciated)
Job skills and qualities
- You enjoy working with babies, toddlers and parents
- You are a good listener and are compassionate
- You are friendly and enthusiastic
- You show initiative and like to think about activities
- You are available on Tuesday and Friday mornings
