Every Tuesday and Friday morning there is a Parent & Child café in Haren. Here, parents/carers with young children can meet. For children there is entertainment and space to play.
Parents can express their ideas and the Parent & Child café thinks, organises and facilitates. Parents can walk in without an appointment and light (parenting) help can be provided quickly if necessary. For this, WIJ Groningen often has the expertise in-house.

Job tasks and duties
The Parent & Child Café is looking for a welcoming volunteer for Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9am to 11:45am. Of course, you may bring your own child, so you can combine volunteering and caring for your child. You will be the first point of contact for parents and children visiting the café. Your duties will include:
- Greet parents and their children (babies and toddlers)
- Providing a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere
- Guiding activities such as reading aloud, crafts, toddler gym, sensory play and mini disco
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Listening to the wishes and needs of parents and children
- Contribute to the organisation of new activities (own input is appreciated)
Job skills and qualities
- You enjoy working with babies, toddlers and parents
- You are a good listener and compassionate
- You are friendly and enthusiastic
- You show initiative and enjoy thinking about activities
- You are available on Tuesday and Friday mornings
