The Hortus Botanicus Haren is looking for an education employee who, together with the Education Coordinator, will further shape an educational program. This program will be run by volunteers and we are looking for someone who will also participate in the supervision of educational activities aimed at experience-oriented knowledge transfer.
Job tasks and duties
Together with the Education Coordinator:
- Develop an education program
- Develop, organize and carry out your publicity activities
- Schedule your school classes and accompany them during their visits
- Supervise your pupils' and students' assignments
- Recruit and supervise your volunteers
In addition:
- Work with a team of volunteers on lessons for primary and secondary school students
- Build collaborations with green organizations and educational institutions
- Where necessary, seek external funds for activities
Job skills and qualities
You don't have to be a botanical expert, enthusiasm and commitment are the most important.
Knowledge of plants and animals in combination
Enjoy working with children and young people
Encourages children to look, ask questions and discover for themselves
Be a sparring partner for the Education Coordinator
