In the children's sewing workshop in De Wijert, seven girls aged nine and up get to work enthusiastically behind the sewing machine every Thursday afternoon. They learn how to make hats, gloves and cushions. We are looking for a volunteer who is handy with the sewing machine and enjoys sharing his or her knowledge with the children.
Job tasks and duties
Together with a colleague, you will supervise the children and ensure a fun and educational afternoon.
- You will explain to the children how to work safely with a sewing machine.
- You will help them with different sewing projects such as hats, gloves and cushions.
- You encourage creativity and self-confidence in the children.
- You help prepare the materials and clean up together afterwards.
Job skills and qualities
- You can handle a sewing machine.
- You enjoy working with children.
- You can explain and are patient.
- You are enthusiastic and enjoy working with others.
- You are available on Thursday afternoons from 16:00 to 17:45 (not during school holidays).
