In the children's sewing workshop in De Wijert, seven girls from the age of nine enthusiastically work behind the sewing machine every Thursday afternoon. They learn how to make hats, gloves and pillows. And later perhaps also larger projects such as trousers, kimono or bag.
To replace our permanent supervisor, we are looking for a volunteer who is handy with the sewing machine and enjoys sharing his or her knowledge with the children.
Job tasks and duties
Together with a colleague, you supervise the children and ensure a pleasant and educational afternoon.
- You explain to the children how to work safely with a sewing machine.
- You help them with various sewing projects, such as hats, gloves and pillows.
- You stimulate creativity and self-confidence in the children.
- You help prepare the materials and clean up together afterwards.
Job skills and qualities
- You can handle a sewing machine.
- You enjoy working with children.
- You can explain and are patient.
- You are enthusiastic and enjoy working with others.
- You are available on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM (not during school holidays).
