As a volunteer at Hamelhuys, you will guide a creative afternoon for patients at the UMCG, focusing on relaxation, distraction and fun. You work creatively with the patients, for example by painting, crafting or making cards.

Job tasks and duties
You supervise a creative activity of approximately 2 hours every month on the first Thursday afternoon at the UMCG. The activity is aimed at relaxation and fun. Experience or level of participants is not important. Your tasks include:
- Preparing and supervising the creative activity.
- Support and assist patients during the activity.
- Offering a listening ear.
Job skills and qualities
You enjoy working with people and you are also social and involved. You have an affinity with creativity and can create a relaxed and open atmosphere. Experience with guiding groups is nice, but not necessary.
Extra information
The Hamelhuys Foundation is the Center for life with and after cancer in Groningen and Assen. (Ex) cancer patients and their loved ones can come by for a cup of coffee, a chat, a listening ear and activities that promote well-being without an appointment. The center is partly run by (trained) volunteers. Activities, workshops and lectures are held as required. What matters most to us is contact with fellow sufferers. Talk together, have a drink, participate in an activity or just be there for each other.
