The community center at Van Houten is decorated by a creative group of local residents. Every Tuesday morning we work together. We make decoration; preferably as much as possible from waste material or from what we have been given. We decorate the building with the decorations we make!
The group consists of approximately 8 people (male/female between 18-70 years). Not everyone is there every week and local residents are also allowed to join spontaneously. We think creativity and fun are important!
We want to go to 2 half days a week. One day focuses on decoration for the community center and the other day we can design it even further. E.g. workshops, art journal making, aimed at learning different techniques.
Job tasks and duties
The creative group emerged spontaneously. We have already created a little structure together, but we are still looking for someone who can help us with this.
What our morning looks like now:
Start together at 9.30 am with a cup of coffee/tea
Start creative/decorating at 10am
12.15 clean up
12.30 eat sandwich and soup together
Job skills and qualities
What do we expect from you, that you are there and will do the morning start with us. What we find important is that it is clear what we are going to do (we certainly have input ourselves) and that attention is paid to everyone who is there. Especially when someone is new, they are well taken care of.
And of course think about the extra morning/afternoon and take the lead here.
We believe that important qualities are: social and creative and the ability to manage a group.
We also find reuse of materials important. We expect you to be creative with existing material.
