The Family Council is the place for you if you want to mean something to others and use your experience as a loved one to improve care. You will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, influence policy and stand up for the interests of families. At the same time, you will work together with professionals and make a valuable contribution to better and more involved care.

Job tasks and duties

  • You promote the interests of the relatives of clients receiving care from Lentis, in relation to the continuity of care in general.
  • You contribute to the organisation of family meetings, keeping an eye on whether they are organised by all departments.
  • You consult with the management and the attention officers of the departments about the implementation of the family policy.
  • You raise your bottlenecks in consultations with the management.

Job skills and qualities

  • You are a Close Involved Person of (former) clients/patients of Lentis and/or feel socially involved with the target group. You can empathise well with others and indicate what is important to most clients. You are good at talking about everything and are interested in the many facets of psychiatry.
  • You are pleasantly critical, sharp and constructive. You can handle confidential information well. We expect an active attitude from our members. Naturally, you take your own personal experiences at Lentis into consideration, but as a member of the client council/committee you mainly stand up for the general interests of the clients of Lentis.

Extra information

This is what you get from us:

  • Member of the council for a minimum term of four years. After this period, there is an option to renew for another four years.
  • You will receive an attendance fee of €19 per consultation or meeting and an allowance for travel expenses.
