WWIJ Groningen is there for all residents of the municipality of Groningen. They can come to one of our WIJ teams with their questions free of charge and without an appointment. The WIJ team in Groningen Zuid is looking for a committed volunteer to inform, advise and support local residents on matters such as housing, welfare, care and finance. Then read on.
Job tasks and duties
As an Entree employee, you will be part of the WIJ team in a district of Groningen. You offer a listening ear and are open to ideas and initiatives from residents. In an initial conversation, you try to clarify the question and look for possibilities together with the resident. You are handy with the computer (looking up, registering, e-mailing) and are prepared, together with the resident, to call institutions if necessary.
Job skills and qualities
- You can empathise with the situation of local residents and have an open, approachable attitude .
- You have good social and communication skills
- You can inform, advise and support
- You have some knowledge of laws and regulations, social services and the social map or you want to go into this.
- You are involved and follow what is going on in the municipality of Groningen.
- You are handy with the computer (search, register, e-mail).
- It is an advantage if you bring knowledge and experience from similar work.
- You have a good command of the Dutch language (oral and written).
