Are you handy and enjoy interacting with others? Do you like repairing broken things and having conversations with all kinds of people? Then maybe the Repair Workshop in Lewenborg is something for you! We already have a nice and diverse team of volunteers, but we are still looking for a volunteer who can help residents as a host, does sign-ups and is also a bit handy.
Job tasks and duties
The Repair Workshop is open every Friday from 13:00 to 16:00 at Stadsboerderij 't Boegbeeld. Residents of Lewenborg and surrounding neighbourhoods can visit us with their broken items from home. Our volunteers will then do their best to repair them. Repairing is free of charge for residents, only material costs will be charged.
As a host, you will welcome visitors and engage them in conversation. You sign them up and try to find out what is wrong with the item. You are open for a chat and make sure people leave in a positive mood. You also answer the phone and answer residents' questions. When it's quiet, you help with repairs yourself. The workshop has tools and work tables to repair the items brought in.
Job skills and qualities
- You are socially strong when dealing with other volunteers, clients of 't Boegbeeld and residents.
- You enjoy engaging with others.
- You are friendly in answering questions over the phone.
- You have an interest/passion for trying to fix things.
- You work accurate.
- You are available on Friday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm (holidays are of course possible).
