You will be part of the Sedna Recovery Academy team. We carry the organisation together, where everyone can join based on their own interests, qualities and wishes for development. Sedna Recovery Academy offers room for growth to people in the process of recovery. The organisation consists entirely of people who have personal experience of this.
You get a chance to develop skills in the areas of: working with people, guiding groups, setting up and implementing projects, networking and publicity and information. There is room for talent development in your own way.
Would you like to use your own life experience for the benefit of others? Then you can join the internal training 'Recovery Supportive Working' and in-depth modules. The first year is open to everyone and gives you space to explore your own recovery process.
Job tasks and duties
As a team member of Sedna Recovery Academy, you can participate in one or more teams, depending on what you are good at and interested in. The work is diverse, such as: welcoming people, administration, organising projects, gardening, guiding groups, providing information and more.
Hosting and facilitation, such as:
- Host at Sedna in the Wijert
- Host at the Creative studio in vinkhuizen
- Organising the weekly lunch for visitors
- Little chores in and around our spaces
Administration, organisation and publicity
- Administrative work such as answering emails and course administration
- Pioneer for a mini - Latvian system (exchange circle)
- Setting up projects for young adults
- Networking, raising awareness and being at markets
- Writing for our blog on Substack
Work with people (after internal training)
- Assisting groups
- Giving community events: expanding existing activities such as the walking hour, writing cafe or collage club, or setting something up yourself
- Introduction interviews with new participants
- Personal talks/listening ear
Job skills and qualities
Sedna could suit you if you are someone who

- Has experience of disruption and recovery themselves

- You have a sense of responsibility
