Maxima Stad is a clothing bank that provides free high-quality clothing to minima in the municipality of Groningen. The shop is located at Oosterhamriklaan and is run entirely by enthusiastic and committed volunteers. An equally voluntary board ensures that the shop is healthy and future-proof. The board keeps an overview of the financial situation and operations and maintains contact with the municipality, the Voedselbank and other cooperating parties.
Maxima Stad is part of the provincial network Kledingbanken Maxima, consisting of seven clothing banks (Maxima Stad, Midden Groningen, Eemsdelta, Veendam, Oldambt, Westerkwartier and Hogeland). Kledingbanken Maxima places emphasis on sustainable operations.

Job tasks and duties
Company managers at Clothing Bank Maxima supervise the volunteers and are the point of contact and responsible for day-to-day affairs, for implementing policy and the organisation.
They meet regularly, discuss the distribution of work and take volunteers' preferences for certain tasks into account. Good communication is paramount.
The company managers strive to create a good atmosphere, give appreciation and hold volunteers accountable for the agreements made.
They are responsible for the logistics of incoming and outgoing clothing, as well as storage.
One can choose as a company manager the personnel matters or more the organisational matters as one's main task, this is then divided among them.
Company managers work according to the guidelines and assignments of the board.
The clients of the Food Bank are our clients. For them, we want to offer as good and beautiful clothes as possible free of charge and create a good atmosphere.
Minimum education level: lbo/mavo/vmbo
Job skills and qualities
We prefer people, who:
- Keep an overview of the work.
- Support the volunteer team (currently consisting of women).
- Have work experience in a shop or similar organisation.
- Have a practical attitude and be handy.
- Have a social and communicative attitude.
- Be able to lead.
- Have computer and social media skills.
Extra information
This vacancy can be filled both as a volunteer job and as a participation job (for a minimum of 16 hours per week).
