Maxima Stad is a clothing bank that offers free high-quality clothing to low-income earners in the municipality of Groningen. The store is located on Oosterhamriklaan and is run entirely by enthusiastic and committed volunteers. An equally voluntary board ensures that the store is healthy and future-proof. The board keeps an overview of the financial situation and business operations and maintains contact with the municipality, the Food Bank and other collaborating parties.
Maxima Stad is part of the provincial network Clothing Banks Maxima, consisting of seven clothing banks (Maxima Stad, Midden Groningen, Eemsdelta, Veendam, Oldambt, Westerkwartier and Hogeland). Clothing Banks Maxima focuses on sustainable business operations.

Job tasks and duties
Managers at Kledingbank Maxima manage the volunteers and are the point of contact and responsible for the daily running of the business, for the implementation of the policy and the organisation.
They consult regularly, discuss the division of the work and take into account the preference of volunteers for certain tasks. Good communication is paramount.
- The managers are committed to a good atmosphere, show appreciation and address volunteers on the agreements made.
- They are responsible for the logistics of incoming and outgoing clothing, as well as storage.
- As a manager, you can choose the personnel matters or the organisational matters as your main task, this is then divided among yourselves.
- Managers work according to the guidelines and assignments of the board.
The customers of the Food Bank are our customers. For them we want to offer the best and most beautiful clothing possible for free and create a good atmosphere.
Minimum education level: lbo/mavo/vmbo
Job skills and qualities
We prefer people who:
- Keep an overview of the work.
- Supervise the volunteer team (currently consisting of women).
- Have work experience in a shop or similar organization.
- Have a practical attitude and are handy.
- Are social and communicative.
- Can provide leadership.
- Are skilled with computers and social media.
Extra information
This vacancy can be filled both as a volunteer job and as a participation job (for a minimum of 16 hours per week).
